Kristinehamn sits on the eastern shore of Lake Vänern, right where the large archipelago begins, with more than 20,000 islands and small skerries. The sheltered harbour and open waters make it a popular place for boating and sailing. Visitors can use modern, easy-to-reach marinas and guest docks, and the sailing areas offer both calm and more challenging conditions. With wide horizons, quiet bays, and an archipelago close to town, Kristinehamn is a great starting point for exploring Scandinavia’s largest lake especially by a sailboat.
Christinehamns SS, the hosting club, is honored to be trusted with organizing the Swedish Championship in Albin Express. Together with support from Kristinehamns Kappseglare (KKS), we are proud to welcome sailors to an event built on passion, experience, and genuine sailing spirit.
The CSS clubhouse will be the central meeting point of the championship and the place for registration, measurement, results, and a natural gathering spot for teams and supporters throughout the event. Just a short walk away, the race harbour serves as the second hub, where all the boats are moored and where we will host our daily After Sail in a relaxed and friendly setting.
Kristinehamn’s excellent location on Lake Vänern offers ideal conditions for top-level racing: short distances from harbour to course, reliable winds, and wide-open waters that provide fair, challenging, and memorable sailing. We look forward to hosting around 25 Swedish teams along with teams from the Nordic region and Germany.
